New Bedford, MA, USA, December 2014 – Fiber Optic Center, Inc., (FOC), an international leader in distributing fiber optic components, equipment and supplies and recognized as one of the most technically savvy fiber optics companies in the world, announces the addition of Dan Rocheleau to its technical team.
Born and raised in Millbury, MA, Mr. Rocheleau has a wealth of experience in all facets of cable assembly production: operations, field-service installation, quality system implementation, process development and engineering, troubleshooting, supply chain and factory management. He has spent his entire career, since 1986, in fiber assembly production. Long-term international assignments included managing cable assembly production facilities in Mexico, India, China, and the Czech Republic. Dan speaks Spanish and Chinese in addition to English. A customer of FOC since he started in 1986, Dan maintains an end-user/customer perspective as part of FOC. Previous positions were with FONS, ADC, and TE Connectivity.
Dan Rocheleau said, "One way in which Fiber Optic Center distinguishes itself from the competition is the depth of manufacturing knowledge and technical support provided with every inquiry and sale. As a former customer, I appreciate how valuable that can be. Furthermore, now as part of the team, I can see directly how a philosophy of integrity and respect for every customer truly permeates through the entire company. I’m very excited, and proud, to be part of team of such high quality, character and competence."
Dan's background is an exact fit for FOC’s Technical Support and Consulting team. Unusual for a distributor, FOC takes a much more active role in supporting customers with both onsite and phone support as needed. The technical staff works closely with managers of high volume, high quality cable assembly houses, particularly those with technically demanding customers and worldwide operations.
Neal Weiss, founder and president of FOC, notes, "Of the few people in the world with the experience and knowledge needed to keep our customers at the cutting edge of high quality and economical assembly production, most are ‘captive’ inside the company for which they work, and are forbidden from helping others. We are fortunate that Dan was ready for a change at the time we needed him. On joining FOC, Dan hit the ground "flying,’ heading off on his first day at FOC to assist one of the major names in the fiber industry in developing their future polishing processes. He has not slowed down since then."
