Critical Areas in the Crimp STEP

  • Proper Crimping: Ensuring that any pull-forces applied to the cable will be taken up by the connector body, and will not be felt by the ferrule, relies on quality equipment and practices.
  • Improper Crimping: Can significantly reduce product tensile strength. A durable crimp is needed to ensure the pull force of your cable assembly. Properly selecting the correct geometric die and size to assure optimum tensile and pull put strength of the cable to connector is key.
  • “Over-crimping”: Can crush cable or connector components, and can prevent the ferrule from having proper “spring action”. Using the right crimp sleeve (diameter, material, and thickness), dye set, crimper, will distribute the strength member evenly around the back end of the connector.

crimping applications. Its parallel crimping action delivers up to 35 kN
(3.9 tons) of force for insulated and non-insulated crimping
applications up to 35 mm² (2 AWG). The quality of the crimp is
guaranteed by a full-cycle mechanism that assures that the dies have
closed completely before they are reopened.

The head is angled to lessen the need to bend the wrist awkwardly, die changes are made quickly and easily, ergonomic handles are dual component with a soft rubber insert plus the tool includes a built in safety release mechanism. Very durable steel housing accommodates both Fiber Optic and Coax dies.
