The Amphenol FC Connector Plug-Style Attenuator is compact in size and provides a 15 dB attenuation value with a flat polish. Unlike traditional attenuators that rely on light scattering, this attenuator utilizes light absorption technology. This approach prevents light from scattering into the fiber cladding, which can otherwise be reflected back at the fiber optic connector interface.

By maintaining a set distance between the connector end face and the fiber interface, the design minimizes interference that could cause insertion loss variations as the wavelength changes.
