ÅngströmBond® CrystalBond™ 509 is a temporary mounting adhesive designed for securing components during dicing, polishing, and other machining processes. This thermoplastic adhesive provides high bond strength to metals, glass, and ceramics. Once processing is complete, 509 can be removed by reheating and is soluble in acetone, leaving no residue.
CrystalBond™ 509 is well-suited for polishing applications, as it minimizes clogging of diamond tools compared to traditional waxes. In thin cross-sections, it becomes transparent, allowing improved visual alignment during processing.
