AngstromLap 1um Aluminum Oxide Lapping Film, 8" Disc with center hole and 3mil Backing, package of 100 discs.
ÅngströmLap Aluminum Oxide Lapping Film is recommended when diamond lapping film is not needed, like in many fiber optic multimode applications. Some aluminum oxides can even be used as the final polish. The 0.5µm and 0.3µm will produce return losses of -50 dB or better, but because they cut the glass at a much quicker rate than the ceramic, undercut may occur. Aluminum oxide 1µm lapping film is typically used as for polishing MM connectors.

The 8" film disc is the standard size for the Ultra Tec Ultrapol 1200, some Buelher polishing machine, as well as others.

A center hole is not recommended unless the polishing machine requires one. A center hole will increase the cost of the lapping film.
