ÅngströmLap Silicon Carbide Lapping Film is a more aggressive abrasive film material, often recommended over Aluminum Oxide Lapping Film for epoxy and glass removal. It is not commonly used for the later steps in the fiber optic polishing process. It produces an excellent surface finish and can help reduce overall polishing process time. The 8" film disc is the standard size for the Ultra Tec Ultrapol 1200, some Buelher Polishing Machine, as well as others.

A center hole is not recommended unless the polishing machine requires one. A center hole will increase the cost of the lapping film.
