Arden MPX Encircled Flux Meter - VCSEL Package
MPX-VCSEL
Arden Photonics MPX package for measurement of VCSEL Encircled Flux includes MPX-1 system for modal analysis of multimode fibers at 850nm with 40dB filtering, including optical unit, cables, software, and manual. Includes 2.5mm & LC adaptors, MPX-SR3 fiber shaker, MPX-CP01 calibration artefact, MPX-CC-01 case, and MPX-API license for programmatic control of MPX-1.
The MPX-1 Modal Explorer provides real-time measurement of Encircled Flux at 850nm. Simply connect your source and patchcord to the MPX, and it will measure their Modal Launch Conditions in real-time.
The MPX-CP01 Calibration Artefact is a Chrome-on-Glass annulus traceable to NPL in London. The artefact is easily mounted in the Modal Explorer using an adaptor of the same design as those used for mounting the connector. The software package supplied with the artefact automatically calculates the magnification factor of the MPX optical system. After acceptance by the user the magnification factor is stored in the MPX configuration file for future use. The whole process can be completed by an engineer in just a few minutes.
The MPX-SR3 Fiber Shaker reduces speckle by changing the differential path length of the various modes in the fiber. The fiber is shaken continuously during the measurement to allow the speckle to be averaged out. This will ensure sufficient repeatability for the measurement of the Encircled Flux.
