The Covestro Desolite® 3471-3-14 Primary Optical Fiber Coating is a single-layer fiber coating featuring high modulus, low moisture sensitivity, and high adhesion. Desolite optical coatings ensure the best economy of high-speed production, superior fiber attenuation and microbending performance. Available in a 10 kg bottle.

Liquid Coating:

Viscosity, 25°C: 10,000 mPa·s
Liquid Refractive Index, 23°C: 1.500

Cured Coating (Tested at <1% R.H.):

Glass Transition Temperature Range, Tg: -18°C (-0.4°F) at E’ _{1000 MPa}
Glass Transition Temperature Range, Tg: 29°C (84.2°F) at E’ _{100 MPa}

Cured Coating (Tested at 23°C, 50% R.H.):

Secant modulus, 2.5% strain: 35 MPa
Elongation: 60%
Tensile strength: 12 MPa
Refractive Index: 1.540
