EPO-TEK® OD2002 Thermally and Electrically Insulating, High Tg Epoxy, 2-Part, Heat Cure, 4 gram packet
The EPO-TEK® OD2002 High Tg Fiber Optic Epoxy is a two-component, thermally and electrically insulating optical epoxy. It is designed as a high glass transition temperature (Tg), yet compliant, alternative to EPO-TEK 353ND. Recommended Cure: 150°C (302°F) for 1 hour. Available in a 4-gram packet.

Features:

  • High glass transition temperature epoxy
  • Pot life: 4 hours
  • Highly autoclave-resistant; bonded devices rated to 1,000 autoclave cycles

Applications:

  • Fiber Optic: fiber terminations to ferrules
  • Optoelectronics packaging
  • Hybrids: lid sealing with near-hermetic leak rate

Physical Properties:

  • Consistency: Viscous liquid
  • Viscosity (23°C): 24,000-42,000 cPs
  • Glass Transition Temperature (Tg): ≥ 140°C (degree Celsius); ≥ 284°F (degree Fahrenheit)
  • Shore D Hardness: 69
  • Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE):
    • Below Tg: 45 × 10⁻⁶ in/in °C
    • Above Tg: 187 × 10⁻⁶ in/in °C
  • Suggested Operating Temperature: < 350°C (Intermittent); < 662°F

Optical Properties @ 23°C (73.4°F):

  • Spectral Transmission: ≥ 98% @ 800-1640 nm
