Rare Earth Wt. % Possible in the Fiber

QUESTION: What wt. % of rare earth is possible in the fiber?

ANSWER:

For preforms requiring high concentration, values of Tm3+ have been reported at ≈ 8.5 wt.%. This is by no means the limit of what is achievable.
