The MS-446 is a mid-span slit and ring tool designed to work on cables from 8.7 to 14.6mm and specifically the AFL LMHD series cables.

Let me tell you a little bit about the tool. The tool features the following. One side does sling, the other side does ringing. Each side has four slots for each size of the cables of the LMHD series or any other similar cable that will fit into these slots. The slot sizes are written on it so you will know. There is a mark on the top that indicates where the slitting blade is and arrows indicating slit direction. The other side is the ring function side and it's indicated also where the blade is and has a little ring function so that you know it's the ring uh it's the ring side of the tool. The slit side has upper and lower slitting blades while the ring side only has a ringing blade in it in the upper portion of the tool.

The blades are replaceable and come as a set. The part number is MS-446RB. The blades typically last about 5,000 slits or cuts. Last thing, all of our MS series tools are patented for design and functionality. The MS-426 won the Cabling and Maintenance Magazine Gold's Innovators Award in 2019 and the MS-6 won the same award in 2018.
