Fiber Optic Center has elite fiber making consultants with world-class technical expertise in specialty fiber processes.

Products and consultation services support:

  • Fiber networks reliability, capacity, and low latency in all environments and conditions.
  • Fiber advancements, by each mile, connecting the world step by step while closing the digital divide.
  • Fiber projected advancements in Datacenter and AI that will determine the future of global connectivity and innovations.

Fusion Splicer Demonstration

Kevin Mooney, Fiber Optic Fusion Splicer Expert, will perform an AFL FSM-90S+ Fusion Splicer demonstration daily at the booth and share best practices for solving common problems in the field.

Fiber Optic Products Available for Demonstration Featuring Field Connector Cleaners:

  • MicroCare Sticklers™ Pro360°™ Fiber Optic Connector Cleaner delivers efficient, contactless cleaning that removes dust and oils from the entire end face to the ferrule edge on both male and female connectors. The non-contact method prevents scratching or pitting, ensuring safe and reliable cleaning with a compact design for use in FTTH, FTTA, aviation, naval, military, and data center applications.

  • Jetting Fiber Blowing equipment lines, including the Jetlogger Documentation System. An electrically operated tool used for blowing fiber optic cable at FTTX installations with real-time performance monitoring.

  • Viavi mFVU-3000 FlexLight Dual-Objective MAP Series Fiber Optic Inspection Scope is designed to optimize testing and reduce contamination during manufacturing and provide actionable feedback with precision. Featuring dual 400X high-resolution magnification and a 30X wide field of view, it delivers advanced imaging control and visualization that supports programmable lighting, automated inspections via REST API, and customizable reporting capabilities.

  • Domaille APM-HDC-2500 Fiber Optic Polishing Machine provides for basic fiber optic polishing needs with high quality output. The touchscreen interface ensures ease of use, offering many essential options for polishing all connector types, storing up to nine polishing processes and five polishing steps.10-200 RPM platen speed with feedback control and a force calibration option included.

  • AFL One Click, Ferrule Cleaner (SC/ST/FC) is an easy-to-use option for cleaning connectors on jumpers and in adapters by inserting the One-Click Cleaner into an adapter and pushing until an audible “click” is heard. The One-Click Cleaner uses the mechanical push action to advance an optical grade cleaning tape while the cleaning tip is rotated to ensure the fiber end-face is effectively, but gently cleaned. For field technicians, it is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket.

Booth Discussions Featuring Field Installation Cleanliness, Cable Bend Considerations and Proper Tool Selection Include:

  • How field installation cleanliness ensures optimal signal transmission and damage prevention

  • Cable minimum bend radius to avoid increased attenuation and broken fibers

  • Cable standards and specifications by installation and environment

  • Optimizing the fiber optic blowing installation procedures

  • Testing after installation to ensure proper signal transmission and connectivity.

  • Field termination of a standard epoxy and polish ferrule operating procedure

  • Proper tool selection for fiber cable prep and termination in the field

  • Cross-sectioning services to identify and isolate fiber optic termination issues

  • Termination of a standard epoxy and polish ferrule: when you must connect in the field

  • Furcation tubing custom products and services

The discussion topics and expert consultations will align closely with specific product demonstrations showcasing the best practices step by step at Booth 1137. Cable end preparation can vary significantly depending on the cable type and application. Indoor and outdoor cables vary significantly based on the environment, each with its own considerations and requirements. These differences will be highlighted through our unique technical expertise in partnership with in-person equipment demonstrations.
