Specially designed for complex multi-fiber applications like MPO or MTP with new advancements
New Bedford, MA, USA – March 7, 2022 – Fiber Optic Center, Inc., (FOC), an international leading distributor specializing in helping their customers make the best cable assemblies in the world, announces the new Domaille APM-HDC-5400 Programmable Polishing Machine at OFC March 8-10, 2022, San Diego, CA.
The Domaille APM-HDC-5400 builds upon one of the most accurate and technologically advanced polishing machine in the market today, the APM-HDC-5320. It improves the overall design and continues to use a rigid fixture system that is superior to floating fixture systems making polishing complex multi-fiber applications like MPO or MTP much easier and more consistent.
Building on the close relationships Domaille has with their customers, many of the APM-HDC-5400 polishing machine’s newest features came from customer driven requests and discussions.
Enhancements include:
- Increased polishing pressure capability up to 24lbs
- Bi-directional polishing platen capability for increased process flexibility
- Improved overarm and handle for better ergonomics, reliability, and quality
- Integrated Micro-G® controls for “zero” pressure polishing to specific lengths
- Illuminated arm pushbutton displaying machine status by color code
- Built-in alert horn for operator notifications
- Dual USB ports for additional peripheral devices
- AbraSave+® software for improved polishing film life
This brand new AbraSave+® feature allows for a variation of polishing time, by film run count, for a specific step. This means process managers can control polishing film whose cut rate differs throughout the life of the film. For example, some films have a higher or quicker cut rate during the initial usage. Minimizing the time here can extend the life of the film and yield more consistent results. These parameters can be controlled by the manager through the process configuration screen.
