The ÅngströmLap® Calcined Alumina Lapping Film is an Aluminum Oxide-based 0.3µm lapping film primarily designed for MM or SM fiber optic connectors as a final finishing step. For optimal results with the 0.3 micron lapping film, Fiber Optic Center recommends using it in conjunction with the Ultra Polish Solution. When combined with the Ultra Polish Solution, it delivers a near flawless finish.
The 5" disc is the standard size for the Domaille APM-HDC-xxxx Series, Seikoh Giken SFP-5XX Series and Ultra Tec UT-8812 or UT-8808 Polishing Machines.

Pressure Sensitive Adhesive is only recommended when it is completely necessary. Once the film is stuck to the polish surface it cannot be removed and reused. This creates a potential and likely problem of debris adhering to the film that cannot be removed. Any debris that comes in contact with the fiber may cause a scratch. PSA will increase the cost of the lapping film.
