The FOR-3000 is a fiber optic midspan slit in ring tool. This tool was slit or ring, round fiber optic cables from 9 millimeters to 19 millimeters in diameter. It will work midspan as well as end-run. The tool will also work on light armored cables. The blade is easily replaceable, this hinge tool easily separates, allowing for easy cable loading for midspan slitting.
Tool is easy to use. There’s a spring-loaded seat at the bottom here, adjusted if you need to simply by placing it onto the cable, closing it to determine how much depth you want the blade to go into the fiber, then tighten the knob. Place the tool over it the line this line here indicates the direction of the blade right now it’s in the slit position. Hey kick, close and pull, do the same thing for the other side. Simply load it, close and pull. To ring the cable. Rotate the black knob 90 degrees so that the line is perpendicular to the body of the tool. Place a tool on squeeze close rotate several times to the feel to blade cut through the jacket and then release.
