Here with all of our latest and greatest products, our JIC-190 Flush Cut Kevlar cutter, and our ever-popular JIC-186 Wiring Kevlar Cutting Shears. Today I’ll be showing you the features of these products and how to use them. When connectorized in your splicing fiber, there’s always a pesky layer of Kevlar that gets in the way, and the only way to get rid of it is to cut through it. The problem is most scissors bend and fold the Kevlar instead of cutting through it. A JIC-186 and the JIC-190 have a serrated blade that holds the Kevlar in place and cuts through it.
The JIC-186 functions like scissors we have to manually open and close them each time you want to cut the Kevlar may have an ergonomic dual component grip that makes it very easy to use. While the JIC-186 functions like scissors, the JIC-190 operates more like a hand tool. With spring-loaded grips, it cuts through Kevlar quickly and minimizes hand fatigue. The JIC-190 also has flush-cut blades which cut Kevlar even closer to the jacket.
