Today I want to talk to you about our MS-526 slit and ring tool. This patented and award-winning tool is specifically designed to work on Corning’s Altos series cables and other manufacturers with similar outside diameters and wall thicknesses.
The tool features the following:
- 4 ring grooves and for slitting grooves.
- Sizes range from 9.8 to 18.2 millimeter
- Compact design is lightweight and features a tethered loop in the rear.
The tool also has a line on the top of each side indicating where the actual blade the blades are designed to last about 5000 cuts or 5000 slits. The blades are replaceable they come as a set and the part number is MS-526RB. To use a tool first, select the proper group with the Corning altos cable. There are two ridges on here you want to orient the blade such that it’s in the center of the ridge. The tool actually has a mark on the side showing that ridge. Open the tool place the cable in the proper groove and close the tool. For this example I’m starting with a slit first. You can pull in either direction. To ring the cable, it’s basically the same process as slitting open up the tool. Place the cable into the proper slot, close and this case rotate around the cable.
