The newest addition to Fiber Optic Center’s customer service department is Sydney Medeiros and we are excited to have gained another member with both great customer skills as well as eclectic personal talents.
For those who have not yet had the pleasure of working with Sydney, her work experience is filled with Customer Service Rep and Shipping/Receiving Manager skills but what she brings to the office, over and above that, is her love for music and all things creative. She is a self-taught painter but with a talent that replicates those who have studied for years.
This picture includes a painting by Sydney and the mural she completed for her one year old son, Ashton’s bedroom. Ashton is known to sing more than he talks. Who wouldn’t sing with such beauty surrounding him?
Some random facts about Sydney are that she was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts. For our customers not familiar with Fall River, it is a city once defined by the rise and fall of its cotton textile industry but is currently the tenth-largest city in the state and currently has many points of interest including Battleship Cove, several USS ships and the infamous Lizzie Borden house.
Sydney is a Fraternal Twin and has two favorite seasons (being a New Englander). She loves summer for the calming effect of the ocean and Fall for the scenery and cozy feeling it brings.
The busy FOC customer service day brings with it typical thoughts like “I wonder what new things I will learn today” followed by “Did shipping receive all documents correctly?" A favorite part of the day is when the department decides which soups everyone will get from our local Destination Soups and Mike’s always adventurous response of “Chicken Veg”.
When Sydney was asked what her first impression of Fiber Optic Center was, she noted, “First thing I noticed was how our office is located in a great historic location with beautiful views which truly makes each ride to and from work more enjoyable. Co-workers were warm, welcoming and made me feel like part of the team right away. I also noticed how all forms of art and music were greatly appreciated here. Every day I become more astonished in learning the role fiber optics play in our lives today and the endless possibilities they hold for the future.”
Fiber Optic Center’s first impression of Sydney? We are so lucky to have her where she belongs. Welcome home, Sydney.
