The ACS armored cable splitter is ideal for slitting the corrugated copper steel or aluminum armor layer on fiber feeder, central tube, stranded loose tube fiber optic cables and other armored cables. To begin using the ACS, first set the blade depth by holding the stripper over the end of the cable to gauge the depth the blade should be set. Using a screwdriver, rotate the blade adjusting screw to cut the outer jacket without coming in contact with the conductor. Once the depth has been set, retract the blade with the black knurled knob. Slide the cable into the tool. Holding back to the wheel against the cable with your thumb, tighten the knob to secure the wheel. Bring the blade back into the ring cut position with the black knurled knob. Rotate the tool around the cable creating a radial score.
Retract the blade with the knob then, using the lever. Move the blade into the longitudinal position and tighten the black knurled knob. For the ACS off of the cable creating a longitudinal score. Reposition the tool to create a second longitudinal score at 180 degrees from the original longitudinal score. With a pair of needlenose pliers, you will now be able to peel off the outer jacket.
