Today I want to talk to you about our ms-336 mid-span slitting ring tool. This patented and award-winning tool is specifically designed to work on Corning’s many extended fast access binder-less cables with 288 and 432 fiber counts.

The tool features the following two slitting grooves and two ring grooves. The small sledding groove and ring group are size four cables from 7.9 to 8.2 millimeters and the larger groove is the size for cables from 10.7 to 11 millimeters. The tool is lightweight and features a tethering hole at the back of tool. One side of the tool performs a slit operation and the opposite side performs the ring operation. They are labeled ring and slit.

The tools blades are designed to last for about 5000 cuts or slits and can be easily replaced. They come as a set and the replacement blade set is MS-336 rb to use the tool, pretty simple. Open up the cover. In this case have the foot side open. Choose the correct slot for your cable. Place the cable into the slot. The tool on the slit side has two small grooves to seat the ridges on the Corning mini extend cable, close and pull. To perform a ring cut, open the tool, place the cable into tool and the right slot. Close and bring the cable three to four times.
